November was an exciting month around the Homeward Bound campus, with so much to be grateful for.

Last month, the Young Presidents’ Organization  visited our campus to host a movie night and pizza for  our families! It was an absolute blast and a great way  to welcome the holiday season.

The following week, thanks to the generosity of Timeless and volunteers from Harvest, we hosted a Thanksgiving event where the families of Homeward Bound were able to gather together for a meal, provided by The Gelato Spot while also receiving a basket with all they would need to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal as a family. The kids also received homemade holiday-themed cookies as a to-go goodie from the incredible volunteer bakers over at For Goodness Cakes

This splendid  kick-off to the holiday season truly would not have been possible without our incredible volunteers and sponsors. Is your organization interested  in getting involved with Homeward Bound? Get in touch about becoming a Difference Maker with Homeward Bound!

The families here at Homeward Bound weren’t the only ones getting in the grateful spirit this November. The Homeward Bound team gathered for a Gratitude Gathering that was overflowing with thanks for the year that we have had working with our incredible community.

Of course, the Homeward Bound team has been hard at work throughout the holiday excitement. One team member extra deserving of some recognition is Marcia, our housing navigator.

Marcia works with both our residents in the shelter program as well as those who utilize our prevention services to help them find affordable housing. Marcia has been an impactful member of our team for a little over a year now and we are so grateful to have her here. Marcia says her favorite Homeward Bound memory is the first year she came to the Thunderbird Holiday Party and saw the snow that is brought to campus for our families. It is a privilege to continue to work alongside Marcia and our community!
