Community Partner Spotlight: Welcome to Our New Board Members!

We are so excited to announce that last month in honor of women’s history month, Homeward Bound has appointed five new board members, all female business professionals from various fields.

The five new members consist of:

Michele Berg, a Community Engagement Leader for Cigna. She plans to utilize her expertise in community engagement to increase awareness for Homeward Bound and the families they serve.

Barbara Gould, the Phoenix Geo Leader and Senior Managing Consultant at Point B. After serving on several other boards in the community and having an extensive background in providing consulting work for various industries, Barbara brings a network of organizations and companies looking to give back to the community in strategic ways.

Larissa Tavelli, the Marketing Director for McCarthy Building Companies INC. Larissa is the co-chair of McCarthy’s Heart Hats Committee, which guides the firm’s community engagement and volunteer efforts. Larissa brings leadership, business development, and strong communication experience to further the mission of Homeward Bound.

Deborah Pearson, the Executive VP Chief Marketing & Experience Office at OneAZ Credit Union. Deborah learned about Homeward Bound after attending a couple of their events and found the passion behind the organization was well worth partnering with in serving families facing homelessness.

Suzanne Trevino, the Supervisor of Transmission & Distribution, Right of Way at Arizona Public Service (APS). Suzanne’s role at APS plays a crucial part in crisis communication to the Greater Phoenix area. With that, she plans to utilize her background to ensure the community is aware of the amazing work that Homeward Bound is doing for families facing homelessness.

Homeward Bound recognizes the amazing work these women bring to the community and how important they are in leading the fight against homelessness.

The addition of these five women and their professional experience will add so much value to our current team and produce more innovative decision-making for the families we serve,” stated Whitney Silence, Homeward Bound CEO.

Homeward Bound’s Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to providing strength, stability, and self-reliance to families facing homelessness.
