PHOENIX, ARIZONA 8/1/20 –
by collecting donations for two local nonprofits, Waste Not and Homeward Bound.
Throughout the months of August and September, Salad and Go staff will collect donations through their drive-thrus and online orders, providing an easy way for their guests to make a difference. 100% of the donations collected will be split evenly between the two organizations.
This isn’t the first time Salad and Go has stepped up to help those in need. In response to COVID-19, they stepped up to meet the growing demand for food donations and since April, have donated more than 77,000 salads to nonprofits like Waste Not and Homeward Bound who are serving people in need.
With the effects of COVID-19 still being felt via continued job loss, limited access to school resources, and a reduction in unemployment benefits, too many people have found themselves on tight budgets and unable to feed their families. Together, Salad and Go, Waste Not, and Homeward Bound are working hard to fill this gap. The funds raised through this campaign will provide meals and shelter to our neighbors in need.
“We are thrilled to partner with Homeward Bound and Waste Not. These organizations are working hard to end hunger and homelessness in our community—their work is necessary, compassionate, and truly inspiring. 100% of the donations collected at Salad and Go in August and September will help expand their impact and directly support programs making a difference” says Brandi Hale, Head of People and Culture at Salad and Go.

About Waste Not
For over 30 years, Waste Not has been dedicated to creating sustainable food systems that help people and the planet flourish. Each year, 40% of food is thrown away, and at the same time, nearly 1 million people in Arizona are struggling with food insecurity. Waste Not is transforming this broken system by connecting tens of thousands of Arizonans with quality food that would have otherwise gone to waste. Our team of professional drivers and food rescue volunteers collect fresh food from local food businesses such as catering companies, resorts and event venues, and deliver that food same day to nonprofits who provide critical community services, such as housing and employment assistance. Last year, Waste Not rescued nearly 2 million pounds of food. By reimagining what’s possible for food rescue, we’re making our community and our planet healthier. About Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound has been serving the needs of homeless families since 1990 with a focus on keeping families together, providing the tools needed to get off the streets, and into their own homes. The organization targets the root issues of homelessness; teaching them to cope with their past and create a better future.
The success of Homeward Bound’s tailored program is in the numbers; 90% of Homeward Bound parents will learn how to stabilize their family finances and 83% of Homeward Bound families will transition into permanent housing within one year.
