In September 2014, Ken donated his mother’s piano to us and it has been getting a lot of attention at our agency ever since. What’s more, Ken also hand-delivered a check to us for $1,000 so that we could hire a music teacher to provide 20 professional lessons to the children. I know the children as well as staff will be excited to have such an important musical instrument and educational opportunity at our disposal. Lately, our Children’s Services Specialist, Marsha, has been talking about all the links of early music exposure to a higher rate of success in school and generally, and I’m sure the presence and use of Ken and the Thunderbirds’ gift will bear witness to that.
Thank you, Ken! What a thoughtful and useful donation.
