Impact Report: May 2018

| From the CEO

I am very excited to share our Spring 2018 Impact Report with you, we have had an amazing past half-year!

Homeward Bound is serving the fastest growing population of the homeless in Maricopa County — families: the vast majority of whom are women and children. We recognize that simply providing housing for homeless families is not enough in assisting the families in becoming self-sufficient and preparing the children to succeed in school. Through our two-generational programming, we are able to give families the tools they need to thrive.

As you will see in this report, we work hard every day to make a change for the families who need it most. None of these successes would be possible without YOU! Thank you for being a part of the Homeward Bound movement.

“When we discovered Homeward Bound and this opportunity was presented to us we just could not pass it up. We strongly believe that literacy is crucial to starting children on the right track to a successful life. We know the money will be used wisely.”

John & Patty Breeding

This Spring, Homeward Bound received wonderful news from our dear friends, John & Patty Breeding. Their passion for education and making a life changing impact on youth led them to pledging a $275,000 gift to our library. Every day, literacy is incorporated at our Thunderbird Family Village through storytelling, bedtime stories, puppet shows, homework help and more. Their support allows for much needed expansion of the services provided in our library for hundreds of children.
