PHOENIX, ARIZONA – On July 9, 2018, Homeward Bound received official accreditation notice by the Council on Accreditation (COA). In addition, Homeward Bound was expedited through the Pre-Commission Review Report (PCR) process after proving fully compliant in all 446 fundamental practice standards reviewed. COA accreditation signifies to Homeward Bound’s consumers, staff, board, donors, funders and regulators that the organization is providing the best possible services to its stakeholders.
Homeward Bound is committed to serving the fastest growing homeless population in Maricopa County- families, by recognizing that simply providing housing is not enough. Instead, taking a two-generational approach through programming and education to provide families and children with the tools they need to thrive.
The COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce. COA accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and increases organizational capacity and accountability by creating a framework for ongoing quality improvement.
“COA’s program of quality improvement is designed to identify providers that have met high performance standards and have made a commitment to their stakeholders to deliver the very best quality services,” wrote Richard Klarberg, President and CEO of the Council on Accreditation. “COA is proud to recognize Homeward Bound as one of these outstanding providers, and we wish [them] the very best.”
With this notice, Homeward Bound is deemed the only agency in the state of Arizona in the Housing Stabilization & Community Living category that has achieved the highly sought after COA accreditation.
“This is a true testament to the hard work that our staff pours into our organization to ensure quality programs for the families we serve, ” said Becky Jackson, President and CEO of Homeward Bound. “I am so proud of the team, who all played a vital role in achieving this amazing accomplishment.”
